Too sleepy to sketch anything. Up late finishing art for a deadline this morning. But I came across this old sketch from an unpublished story about a space-travelling Grandma. I'll pretend I drew it today.
I can hear my neighbor mowing his lawn this morning, which reminds me that I need to drag out my lawnmower from winter storage and do likewise. Which made me think how much I'd rather have a self-guiding, cyber-brain-controlled hover lawnmower with satellite, toaster, beer tap, and rear-mounted dog-poop-vaporizing laser. I mean, who wouldn't?
1: To break up the (sometimes) monotony of the workday. 2: To have an outlet where I can just doodle and sketch and try new brushes in Painter. I've spent so long drawing for clients, that I've gotten out of the habit of drawing for fun. For example, a sad rhinoceros. Who, apparently, is going to school in his pajamas.
This is my sketchblog. Hi. I did this drawing approximately 5.2 million years ago. I've always liked it, and always promised myself I would write a story to accompany it, (a promise which is languishing alongside my vow to go biking every morning and cut back on the coffee.)
