Dogland
All rise for the National Anthem of Dogland.
Which sounds eerily similar to the dogs barking Jingle Bells.

Back with ducks
I'm back from blog exile.
I was finishing two picture books, a huge volume of work, during which time the thought of sketching anything extra made me want to hide under the sink with a glass of milk.
But all is well, as witnessed by the international symbol for health and well-being: a two headed duck in their finest presidential frippery.

early halloween
Okay, so it's not halloween yet. But it's October. Close enough.
Here's a little picture from a self-promo last year, of some nice kids visiting the worm lady.

big wheel redux
The second time that the timeless Big Wheel has graced this sketchblog.

So my recurring themes seem to be:
cats
dogs
other sundry animals
astronauts
cowboys
aliens
things in fishbowl helmets
surly/sad people
birds
bunnies
star wars references
and now, childhood transportation devices.
cool.

metric cat
There comes a time in every young man's life when he's compelled by some inner, primal urge to measure cats.

This would be my cat:

green bird
Again with the birds and cats and cowboys. I need to get out of the house more.

Tully had a racoon for hair...
...but he never let it keep him from his dream, which was to stay home with the curtains closed and chat on the internet with people who didn't know he had a racoon for hair. His screen name was 'nOrm4lha1R'.
Although truth be told, his hair was a badger who posed as a racoon, ashamed of his swarthy badger heritage. Oh, what a tangled web we weave.

Deeger goes to prom
He's a little nervous. Thought his lucky corn hat would help.

mad scientist lab
Cropped in on a back cover of something from last year. I could happily spend years drawing this kind of fun techno hodge-podge.
