Farmer Joe
All I remember about this peice was that it took over 6 months to get paid for it.

I like drawing short squat people. I feel kinship with them.

ancient art
I drew this way back in the wayback. I'd love to get some of this looseness and spontenaity back again.
Dr. Evil stole my mojo.

Hamlet. As I remember it at least. Wasn't paying attention.

Back to school
Aliens are way more fun to draw than people.

cool ceiling
This is a page from the Shark Tale Storybook I illustrated last year for Scholastic/Dreamworks. When the book was printed, an opaque text block entirely covered the cool ceiling with the light coming through the skylight. So I'm posting this here so the hours I spent on that part of the image won't be a total waste.

maggie
Our dog/cotton ball, Maggie. She mopes like this whenever my wife leaves the house.

update: Maggie has gone back to her previous home after mistaking my son's nose for a snausage. Don't let the door hit your fluffy white fanny, dog.

Have a seat
Lil' sad alien in a chair. My dad had a chair like this. But not an alien like this. Although I never checked the attic.
I will always love drawing things in fishbowl helmets.

Frog attack
I did this as a promo piece, but never used it. I was never satisfied with it, and I finally figured out why (at least one reason)-
The frogs on the pond should be smaller than the ones on the bird. But they're the same size or larger. Which messes with the perspective. Which ruins the whole effect. Which makes me want to take up basket weaving or something.

I like the pilot, though.

Noah's Shuttle
In honor of the Space Shuttle likely going the way of the Model T, here's a piece I did last year as self-promo.

Alien teachers
This is the cover for what would have been the sixth in the series of 'Sidekicks' chapter books by Dan Danko and Tom Mason. That is, if the publisher hadn't decided to end the series after the 5th book. A true loss for book-loving humanity.
